About Artique
Gallery.
Artique was conceived as a celebration of the
spirit of creativity. Since 1980, Mike and Kathy
Stutland have nurtured this vision from a small
boutique into a nationally renowned,
full-spectrum fine contemporary American craft
gallery with over 4,500 square feet in its
original location at The Lexington Center in the
heart of downtown Lexington, KY. In 1996,
Artique opened a second location at Lexington
Green, a vibrant entertainment retail complex on
the south side of Lexington. In August 2001,
Artique expanded again adding another store
featuring statement jewelry and high-end fine
American crafts. Artique has become a prime
source for fine jewelry, blown glass,
collectable crafts, art, and one-of-a-kind
gifts.
Experience the special vibration
that is Artique. Alive. Upbeat. Continually
evolving. Bursting with color, texture, shape
and form. Every creation a testament to
someone's Creative Dream. Building one's life
around the creative process. Handcrafting inner
visions into artful reality.
Over 1000 artists provide Artique with its
breathtaking collection of ever changing fine
American crafts. Award winning work from over 45
states. Jewelry to wood, glass to metal. It's
extraordinary, it's fun, can be functional,
might be whimsical. It's definitely unique!
Artique so faithfully represents American crafts
that it has been chosen as a Top 100 Retailer by
Niche Magazine numerous times. Artique has been
nationally recognized by the craft community for
"treating artists with courtesy and respect,
promoting and marketing American Crafts, giving
back time and energy to the craft community, and
mentoring emerging artists".
The state of Kentucky has been renowned as a
national leader in the American crafts movement.
Artique has been recognized as one of the top
galleries in the United States for promoting
Kentucky crafts and has provided both leadership
and vision for the local and statewide arts and
business communities. This past year Artique was
voted the number one gallery in Kentucky from
Kentucky Monthly Magazine. Artique's generous
support of many non-profit organizations has
received much recognition over the years. In
1998, Artique received the prestigious
Leadership Achievement Award from the city of
Lexington, Kentucky.
Beyond ordinary, beyond special, and certainly
beyond mass production. Mark the significant
occasions in your life that are worthy of
celebration with a thoughtful handcrafted gift
from the hearts, hands, and minds of some of the
most talented and creative people in America.
