Artique Gallery – 42 years in Lexington – truly the premier handcraft gift shop and gallery in this area! We carry the work of many local craftspeople, and others across the United States and Canada; jewelry, pottery, blown glass, woodcraft, clocks, garden bobbles, wall art.

Our ideal candidate appreciates and understands the intrinsic value of handcrafted objects, and wants to ‘keep shop’ by unpacking, merchandising, offering great customer service and personalized shopping assistance, gift wrap, ship, dust, sweep the floors, etc... Our customers are looking for gifts to commemorate special life events, or treating themselves to something, so attention to customer service and desire to work with people are a must!

Schedule:

3-4 days per week –
   2-3 weeknights (2:00 - 8:15 pm) and
   regular Saturdays (10:00 - 2:00 pm or 2:00 - 8:15 pm) and
some Sundays (11:45 - 6:15 pm) are required

Occasional morning hours may be helpful. (10:00a - 2:00p or 10:00a-5:00p) We prefer to keep the schedule somewhat regular but appreciate flexibility so that everyone on staff can honor family and social obligations, or things that may come up.

Additional objectives:

Buying – selecting products for the store is so fun – it’s like Christmas morning opening shipments, but you don’t have to pay the bill! (Unless you love it so much that you do go and buy it yourself!) Work where you love to shop, we like to say!

Cleaning – we have a fair share of dusting and polishing, unpacking/recycling and taking out trash that must be done.

Data entry - accurately entering product information from invoices, writing copy for inventory, labeling product.

Product photography - taking and editing clean product shots for online listings and styled product shots for social media – we’ve recently really gotten into unboxing videos and time lapse shots of the making of some of our display installations - we’re keen on trying new things!

Visual merchandising – we often build/paint/design/make displays and art installations in the store to support specific product lines - so anyone with a board full of crazy Pinterest ideas; crafts, DIY, shop windows… that’s who we’re looking for.

Of course, if the interest is there - we will train and share ideas for any of the above-mentioned items.
