These dreamy paperweights are even more mystifying in person. They measure 3.5" in diameter, and are handmade in Seattle, Washington. Each weight is inspired by one of Glass Eye Studio's designer's interpretation of the scientific world, and takes a team of two or three talented artists to create. These carefully formed designs use a wide spectrum of materials: specialty colors, dichroic glass, glow-in-the-dark material, and even precious metals. Since 1995, these pieces of art have been admired and collected.
As each piece is uniquely crafted and individually handmade, no two are alike. The photos shown are a representation of what you will receive; colors and design may slightly vary. All Glass Eye Studio pieces also contain volcanic ash from the Mount St. Helen's eruption in 1980.
It brightens our day each morning with its brilliant rays of life giving light. With a frosty duo-chrome finish and metallic swirl, this representation of the sun is a stunning reminder of the warmth and happiness it brings us.
Exploring the hypothetical shortcut through space and time, this Glass Eye Studio Special Edition Paperweight examines the possibility of traveling the universe at the speed of light. Although not yet observed by astronomers, Einstein’s relativity equations have valid solutions that suggest their existence. This visual interpretation adds depth to a wealth of fictional speculation, from Madeleine L’Engle’s A Wrinkle in Time to Stargate.
The third planet from the Sun, our beautiful, Earth. Vivid cobalt and varying cloud dimensions bring this paperweight to life.
