From his studio in Lexington, KY, Enrique Gonzalez brings to life art that inspires, evokes emotions, and overflows in color and movement. A native from the Venezuelan Amazonian Rainforest, Enrique finds inspiration for his work in everyday subjects around him that are then translated with his brushstrokes of bright pigments into unique works on canvas. His style is modern impressionism.
Some of his most recognized work is equine art. His paintings of horse races at Keeneland, Churchill Downs, and the Red Mile are recognized and favored by local clients. Other favorites include panoramic landscapes, musical instruments, portraits, vividly colored feathered peacocks, and other animal menagerie.
Enrique's works are generally created from acrylic paints brushed on canvas, but he often incorporates other paint mediums and techniques as inspired. Painting with a palette knife adds stunning depth and texture and enhances the movement in his works. Some pieces impart subtle rich, gold highlights from 24 karat gold paint accents.
Enrique strongly believes in the importance of community involvement. He volunteers his time and donates art work to many local organizations and charities. You'll see Enrique hosting his 'Painting with Enrique' classes all over Lexington and surrounding areas.
Additionally, Enrique is well known as the lead singer of the band Big Maracas which delights its followers with an eclectic mix of tropical jazz rhythms.
Enrique also commissions his work to client's specific requirements. Contact us for more information.
