As the name suggests, Japanese Maple originated in East Asia. This tree can grow up to 25 feet tall and has many different varieties, ranching from rich, ruby-colered to vibrant green-colored leaves. The tree's wing-shaped seed casings are designed by nature so when they fall, they spin and can travel with the eind to spread the seed far and wide. During his visits to Japan, Michael as not only inspired by how the trees were used in traditional Japanese landscaping and garden design, but in Bonsai and even culinary dishes as well.
